Professor Abudu, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

Mr Abudu is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust. 

He qualified as a medical doctor in 1987 with distinction, became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Glasgow in 1992, gained MasterÕs degree in Clinical Research in 1997, the Intercollegiate Fellowship in Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery in 2000 and underwent a fellowship programme in Orthopaedic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University Of Toronto Canada in 2000 to 2001.

Mr Abudu specialises in routine and complex knee surgery. He has particular interests in primary and revision replacements, arthroscopy of knee joints, correction of major bone deformities, bone and joint infections, treatment of failed knee replacements, bone and soft tissue lumps, and major bone defects.

Mr Abudu has been an invited surgeon and lecturer in many countries outside the United Kingdom including the USA, Canada, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Australia, Portugal, Germany, Norway, Austria, Brazil, India, and Malaysia among others.

Please be aware that with effect from Wednesday 1st March 2017, the Oncology Service at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital no longer accepts fax referrals.

Failure to include a completed form or correct information may result in a delay.

GPs should continue to use the Choose & Book system (e-referrals) for urgent two week wait patients. (The email process above is for tertiary and non-urgent referrals).
