Professor Martyn Snow

Professor Martyn Snow, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

Professor Snow is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust.  He has an honorary professorship at The University of Birmingham and at Aston University.

He qualified in Edinburgh and Manchester and spent time training abroad; 18 months in North America, 12 months in Halifax, Nova Scotia and then six months at the Holland Orthopaedic and Arthritic Centre in Toronto.
 
In 2008 Professor Snow was awarded the British Elbow and Shoulder Society North American traveling fellowship. This enabled him to spend a further four weeks visiting some of the worlds foremost shoulder surgeons in major centres such as New York, Los Angeles, San Antonio and Houston.
 
Professor Snow has authored over 30 publications in various International medical journals. He has written two book chapters on knee and shoulder injuries and has presented over 50 papers at various national and international meetings. In 2007 he was recognized by the European Trauma Society, and awarded a prize for the best scientific paper published that year.
 
In 2006 he completed an MSc in Orthopaedic Engineering from Cardiff University. Since then he has designed his own fixation device for use in ACL reconstruction, which is currently in the final stages of prototype testing before going into production.
