Syarifah Wilson Podiatrist, BSc. MSc. MChS. HCPC reg.

Syarifah qualified from the University of Huddersfield with a First Class Honours Degree in Podiatry in 2016. She is a member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Royal College of Podiatry.

Syarifah has recently joined the Foot and Ankle team in 2021 at the Royal Orthopaedic hospital. She has extensive clinical experience in the NHS working within many specialist areas of the foot and ankle. This includes working in the fields of musculoskeletal (MSK) biomechanics, within a multi-disciplinary Diabetic foot team and in Podiatric surgery. She has obtained certification in advanced local anaesthesia  and steroid injection therapies. 

Syarifah undertook MSc at the University of Huddersfield in the Theory of Podiatric Surgery and graduated in 2019 with distinction. The thesis which was completed in partial fulfilment of this masters was later published in 2020 in the Foot and Ankle Online Journal. The research looked at the efficacy of the rotational scarf osteotomy for the surgical treatment of Tailor’s bunion. 

Syarifah has a keen interest in biomechanical concerns of the foot and ankle. She also has an interest in research and looking at efficacy of treatments based on up to date evidence and patient reported outcome measures.
