Safer Staffing Levels
The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is committed to providing safe, high-quality care by ensuring that the right staff, with the right skills, are in the right place at the right time (National Quality Board, 2016). We are dedicated to maintaining a safe environment for both patients and staff, and we openly share staffing information to ensure transparency and accountability.
In line with national requirements following the Francis Report (2013), the Trust publishes monthly nursing staffing information on the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust website. This data includes:
- Planned vs. actual staffing levels by staff group
- Care Hours Per Patient Day (CHPPD)
The published data is shown below and is updated monthly, providing patients, staff, and the public with up-to-date information about safe staffing in our wards. Each ward also displays posters showing planned and actual staffing levels at the start of every shift.
- Patient safety data
- Patient feedback
- Professional judgement
This ensures our wards are appropriately staffed to meet patient needs and maintain high-quality care.
