Non-clinical Pathway

I have been working for the NHS, mostly within The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, for nearly 10 years.
I started my journey in 2009 as a Management Office Apprentice and am now working as a Governance Support Officer.
Working for the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital has been very rewarding and has offered many opportunities.
This is my story so far...

Apprenticeship
Business Administration | Level 2
I joined ROH as a Management Office Apprentice working towards my L2 Business Administration Apprenticeship.

Administratior
After which I secured a job in Finance Procurement as an Administrator

Co-ordinator
In my next role I worked as a Co-ordinator for the Nurse Bank in Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust

First Line Management Course
Whilst in this role I decided I wanted to further my career opportunities by completing an on the job management course

Administratior
With my newly acquired management qualification I applied for an HR Administrator post back in the ROH

Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) | Level 5
During my time as an HR Administrator I was given an opportunity to enrol onto an (ILM) L5 Management Course which I completed as I worked

Officer
Having attained a management qualification I applied for and got a job as a Officer in Governance Support, where I am currently working.

What does the future hold?
I am now working in a Band 5 Role and my future aspirations are to apply to the Human Resources NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme at a Band 7, to gain more experience in HR and eventually become an HR Director.
Working in the NHS has provided me with many opportunities to succeed and further my personal development, through funded learning and a wealth of experience.
