Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist awarded Travelling Professorship
ROH Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist, Rajesh Botchu, has been awarded the prestigious RCR/BSSR Travelling Professorship for 2025.
This is awarded to one person each year and will see Rajesh travel to different centres across the UK sharing his knowledge and experience in musculoskeletal (MSK) radiology.
Rajesh has worked at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital for 11 years and has a strong research focus – he’s published 375 papers in peer reviewed journals and is an editor of three textbooks. He works extensively within oncology to further radiological practices in identifying and treating sarcomas (bone and soft tissue tumours) and is a contributor to MSKRadiology4U, an educational website to support ongoing learning in radiology best practice.
His aim for the RCR/BSSR Travelling Professorship is to share his experience and raise the profile of musculoskeletal radiology through a series of lectures, and to inspire the next generation of radiologists in research and interventional radiology (minimally invasive procedures using medical imaging guidance).
Rajesh comments: “To be awarded this Travelling Professorship and be recognised for my work over the years is an honour. I am looking forward to sharing my experiences with radiologists across the UK and highlight the advancements in interventional radiology that contribute to improved patient outcomes.”
