DrDoctor - patients can now view and download their letters online instantly

We’re delighted to be one of the first NHS Trusts to partner with DrDoctor, a digital health company, to introduce a new digital letter and SMS text message service, which enables outpatients to access their letters digitally all in one place.

Patients will receive a text message with a link allowing them to view and download their letters on their mobile phone, tablet, or computer.

Gavin Newman, Digital Programme Manager at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, said: “Using the app means patients can view their letters quickly and easily – all in the one place. It will help to reduce confusion from lost letters, or if they arrive in the wrong order, and will make the patient experience smoother.

“As well as benefits for patients, this service will help to reduce the Trusts’s environmental impact, and provide a better value for money by reducing the amount of paper and stamps we’re using.”

Patients who prefer paper letters can still receive their letters by post as usual.
