Nightingale FC football match scores over £1,000 for hospital charity

The Euros weren’t the only successful footballing final that was held this summer!

Local Birmingham NHS Trust, The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital (ROH), took on Nightingale FC in an unforgettable, friendly football match raising an incredible £1,784 for the Hospital’s Charity.

Over 100 spectators came out to show their support at The Arden Garages Stadium in Stratford-upon-Avon, with the first goal of the match going to ROH registrar, Ibrahim, in the 60th minute.

The ROH team was made up of colleagues across Theatres, IT, HR, Porters and Research teams who took on Nightingale FC, the NHS club which was formed in April 2020, in the early stages of the national lockdown.

The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital Charity is the football club’s main sponsor and since 2020, the club has raised an extraordinary amount for the charity.

The event was kindly sponsored by Brownie Boss, and other local businesses, sponsors and partners donated raffle prizes and puddings. ROH employee and Nightingale FC player Brett Ellis donated garden games for those who wanted to take part in activities.
