David Richardson

David joined the Trust in September 2020, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his previous role with an international retailer. As a member of the CIPD, David has over 30 years of expertise in education and training. He holds a Level 7 qualification in Executive Coaching and Leadership Mentoring, as well as being a certified NLP Practitioner. He has a breadth of HR experience with a strong commercial mindset of delivering results across a range of functions.

Since March 2015, David has been the Head of Education and Training at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, overseeing the operational management of our Knowledge Hub (Centre for Education and Research). He is responsible for coordinating the Medical Education and Library Services in collaboration with local University Medical Schools, including the University of Birmingham and Aston University. David also leads the Trust’s training and development strategy, ensuring high standards of patient care through staff compliance with mandatory training, the provision of a robust apprenticeship program, and offering ongoing personal and career development opportunities for all staff members.
