Mr Cox is an Extended Scope Podiatric Practitioner at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust.
He qualified with a first class honours degree in Podiatric Medicine, achieving top grades in his year.
Mr Cox has gained affirmation of his personal and professional expertise by becoming a Member of the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine, at the prestigious Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow.
Mr Cox specialises the conservative treatment of foot and ankle pathologies. He has a keen interest in the surgical management of foot and ankle complaints and works closely with the Orthopaedic foot and ankle Consultants.
He has been instrumental in the setting up of the successful Heel Pain Service, here at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, which has included the introduction of Shockwave Therapy for the treatment of heel pain and tendinopathies.
Mr Cox has been active in training other healthcare professionals in important foot related areas, such as foot care for the high risk patient. He has mentored colleagues in the administration of steroids and local anaesthesia into the foot and ankle. He has contributed towards national musculoskeletal guidelines for the treatment of the foot and ankle.
