Gurjit Bhogal

Consultant in Sports Medicine

Dr Gurjit Bhogal is a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine appointed to the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham in 2015. He has an interest in the diagnosis and non-surgical management of a wide range of musculoskeletal and sports injuries.

He currently works additionally as team doctor for the England Women's Cricket team and is the Chief Medical Officer of Warwickshire County Cricket Club, having previously worked for the England Men's Cricket team between 2012 and 2021.

He was First team and Lead Academy doctor for Aston Villa FC between 2015 and 2023. He has also previously acted as physician for the English Institute of Sport, British Triathlon Federation, Worcester Wolves Basketball team, Worcestershire County Cricket Club and Bristol Bears Rugby Football Club. 

He has a keen interest in clinical governance and was appointed the Chief Medical Officer of the 2019 Cricket World Cup, Chair of the Medical / Bio-Security committee for the 2021 T20 Cricket World Cup and is a current trustee of the Royal Osteoporosis Society.
