Emma qualified from University of Northumbria in 1994 with BScHons/Registered Nurse in Nursing Studies.
Since then she has worked in a variety of clinical settings including Medicine/Diabetes and Emergency Medicine, but the majority of her clinical career has been in Oncology and Haematology roles as ward nurse, Ward manager, Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care and Acute Oncology and Lead Nurse on a Chemotherapy Day Unit.
Her more senior Leadership roles have been as a Matron and Deputy Director of Nursing where she has enjoyed service improvement and leading and developing Nursing teams.
Here at ROH as the Deputy Chief Nurse her responsibilities are both within operational and corporate nursing with a focus on Nursing Workforce and Education, Patient Safety and Experience and supporting our Senior Nurses to lead their teams through continuous improvement to provide excellent care for patients.
