Karen Hughes

Karen is the Head of Nursing for Division 1 which includes all in-patient wards, Adult and CYP Outpatient departments, Discharge Lounge and the Royal Orthopaedic Community Service. Karen works closely with others to ensure the provision of high quality, safe services, excellent outcomes and patient experience.

Karen is a Registered Nurse with experience across a variety of clinical specialities within other acute Trusts, staff training and Education and Patient Safety.

Karen is passionate about equity, staff development and empowerment, delivery of safe and quality patient care and experience and Governance processes, including the importance of learning when we don’t get things right.
