THE ROYAL ORTHOPAEDIC HOSPITAL CELEBRATES NHS75 IN STYLE!

The sun came out for Birmingham’s Royal Orthopaedic Hospital to celebrate the NHS’s 75th birthday in style this week.

To say thank you to colleagues, the Trust hosted a 1940s inspired Big Tea party, complete with gallons of tea, slices of cake and miles of bunting which decorated the hospital site.

Jo Williams, Chief Executive said: “This 75th Anniversary marks a point where we can honour our history, celebrate our accomplishments, and look with hope to the future.

“Each and every colleague does incredible work and contributes to the ROH being an amazing place.”

Colleagues dressed up in 1940s inspired outfits and were able to try their hand at some fairground games like hook a duck, a coconut shy, and strong man game.

The Bluebird Belles vintage singers provided the soundtrack to the event, and a gramophone DJ and a local Rock Choir entertained patients.

Colleagues from nursing, physiotherapy and corporate departments were also invited to attend the special NHS75 service at Westminster Abbey.

Claudette, Senior Clinical Research Nurse at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital was invited to the service and said: “I am very humbled to be invited to Westminster Abbey to celebrate 75 years of the NHS. It is a great honour and a privilege to be a part of this momentous occasion, I am truly grateful.”

Thank you to the Royal Orthopaedic Charity who supported our NHS75 celebrations, including taking part in the #LightUpBlue initiative.
