Birmingham's Royal Orthopaedic hospital reaccredited as Elective Surgical Hub

The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital has been reaccredited as a Getting it Right First Time (GIRFT) Elective Surgical Hub.
GIRFT is a national programme designed to improve care within the NHS. Elective Surgical Hubs are an important part of the NHS's plan to increase capacity and to offer hundreds of thousands more patients' quicker access to common procedures.
Marie Peplow, Executive Chief Operating Officer at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Senior Responsible Officer for the accreditation programme commented: “Thank you to everyone who helped during the reaccreditation for their dedication and hard work – this is a significant achievement for the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital. Accreditation is a marker of exceptional quality, and it helps our teams treat more people and do more of what we do best for our patients.”
The GIRFT accreditation team, led by Professor Tim Briggs, commented on the pride and passion shown by the team for continuing to improve the service we offer at the ROH. Elective Surgical Hubs bring together skills and expertise of staff under one roof – helping to reduce waiting times. You can read more about them here: Getting It Right First Time - GIRFT
