From May 2023, our Orthotics service will be provided by a new company: Opcare.

Opcare will be taking over the contract currently held by Blatchford. Opcare will manage the service at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, as well as at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s, and in the community including the diagnosis, treatment, fitting, maintaining and repairing of orthoses to children, young people and adults across Birmingham and Solihull for the next 7 years.

Patients won’t feel a change in the care they receive, but may notice different clinicians on site next time they visit.
