Photography exhibition 'Behind the mask' launches

On Monday 21 September, The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital launched a photography exhibition entitled ‘Behind the mask’

The exhibition features portraits of hospital staff both with and without face masks. The photography exhibition has been designed to remind visitors that behind the masks are people who want to provide the best patient experience possible.

Known for both care and compassion, The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital has always been a place where visitors are made to feel welcome. However, COVID-19 (and the need to wear masks) has placed a barrier in front of the smiles, smiles which comfort, console and reassure. The exhibition shows the faces, the personalities and the smiles of the people behind the mask.

This exhibition was photographed by Pete Warwick, a Birmingham-based photographer.
