ROH welcomes spinal fellows (Pubished 27 March 2019)

The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital was pleased to welcome travelling spinal fellows recently, as part of the BASS fellowship.

The British Association of Spinal Surgeons (BASS) and the British Scoliosis Society (BSS) offer senior residents, spinal fellows and consultants a chance to have extensive exposure to complex spinal procedures at established spinal units like the ROH. The fellowship, which took place this month, saw fellows from around the world travel to Birmingham, the north west and finally Cardiff.

As leaders in spinal surgery and an accredited AOspine centre, the ROH is an important landing point for those in the formative stages of their spinal surgical careers. AOSpine Centers are prestigious institutions that provide an approved standard of training and education. ROH is one of only a handful which meet this important standard.

By all accounts, the fellows enjoyed their experience and benefitted from the expertise available from spinal consultants at ROH.
