This followed a career of over 30 years, with wide ranging leadership experience in the private sector as Chairman, Managing Director and Director. Simon's career, prior to South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust, centred around retailing and manufacturing businesses operating within the consumer and building products markets.

He has a strong background in business transformation, marketing, sales and commercial leadership, working for some well known blue-chip brands, in both the prestige branded and mass-market arenas; these include Aga, Fired Earth, Villeroy & Boch and Rangemaster.
