Photo exhibition with Cavell Nurses' Trust

The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and the Cavell Nurses’ Trust are joining forces to celebrate nurses on International Nurses’ Day on Thursday 12th May. We are hosting a photographic exhibition that celebrates our nurses at the hospital and beyond. The display includes shots of nurses at work and play, to give a flavour of the person behind the uniform.

Redditch-based nursing charity Cavell Nurses’ Trust, that gives money and support to nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants experiencing financial or personal hardship, has supported The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in producing the exhibition. Cavell Nurses’ Trust Chairman, Simon Knighton, is delighted with the results, “The exhibition shows us the person behind the professional. It’s our privilege to be here for nurses when they’re facing hardship so, if possible, they can get back to the job and the life they love.”

“This is a great way to celebrate these amazing nurses on International Nurses’ Day and it’s clear the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital are very proud of their staff.”

The exhibition runs from Thursday 12th May to Friday 20th May and is open to the public in the Outpatients Department of our Hospital on Bristol Road South. Garry Marsh, Director of Nursing and Governance at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital is keen for people to visit, “Our nurses who’ve taken part in the photography project have really enjoyed it and we’d love people to pop down to the glass corridor in the Outpatients Department and have a look. We’re always keen to celebrate our staff and the photography exhibition is a great way to do this.”

Anyone interested in seeing the exhibition can visit it The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital Outpatients Department from Thursday 12th May to Friday 20th May. You can also view the work on our website: www.roh.nhs.uk/nurses-day
