Last week, the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital Charitable Fund was successful in securing a further £50,000 grant to enhance patient experience across the Trust.
The grant was received from NHS Charities Together as part of their COVID-19 Stage 4 Grant application process.
The funds received in this grant will support the new Patient Entertainment System that will be launched in 2021. The system will help to limit patients' loneliness and self-isolation with entertainment and video calling facilities available at the beside. This is additional to the original £50,000 grant received in July. The £100,000 received specifically for this project will help patient stimulation and provide something fun to focus on during this challenging time and also to generally enhance their experience with us.
NHS Charities Together have been hugely successful with their COVID-19 Appeal and secured over £140 million pounds worth of donations from individual givers and businesses all over the UK. As a member charity we are eligible to apply for various grants in order to utilise these funds to support both patients and staff throughout the year.
We have applied for further funding which will be ringfenced for staff wellbeing projects and enhancing the musculoskeletal pathways in the Midlands.
