The 2026 Blue Heart Awards celebrate the heart of healthcare

The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital (ROH) is proud to announce the launch of the Blue Heart Awards, an annual celebration designed to recognise the extraordinary dedication, compassion and commitment shown by our staff and volunteers.

The Blue Heart Awards celebrate the ‘heart of healthcare’ and shine a spotlight on the incredible individuals and teams who go above and beyond every day to deliver outstanding care for patients, families and colleagues.

This gives patients, visitors, colleagues and members of the public the opportunity to nominate an NHS hero, helping to recognise those whose kindness, professionalism and teamwork truly make a difference.

Recognising excellence across the hospital

The awards will recognise excellence across a wide range of roles and services, reflecting the diversity and talent of our workforce. Categories will celebrate clinical and non-clinical staff, individuals and teams, volunteers, and those who have made an outstanding contribution to patient experience, innovation, learning and continuous improvement.

By highlighting these achievements, the Blue Heart Awards aim to boost morale, promote pride in our work and reinforce our commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Supported by Royal Orthopaedic Charity (ROC)

The awards are proudly supported by Royal Orthopaedic Charity (ROC), which works closely with the hospital to enhance patient experience, support staff wellbeing and invest in training, equipment and innovation.

ROC’s support helps ensure the awards ceremony is a special occasion, giving staff the recognition they deserve and creating a memorable celebration of excellence across the organisation.
